The website will be regularly updated with how the funding is being spent and the impact it is having on the children.

In September 2014, the Sport Premium was a new funding package that was announced by the government to provide schools with additional money over 3 years to support the delivery of PE & school sport.

Our school has been awarded a grant of £8500 based on our pupil numbers and after consulting both the staff and the pupils we plan to spend the money in the following ways:

  • Training staff in teaching outstanding and inclusive PE lessons
  • Updating staff on the new curriculum
  • Buying new PE resources to support the delivery of high quality PE
  • Running new and exciting after school clubs to encourage more children to take part in sport
  • Provide more opportunities for children to take part in competitive sport
  • Focus on improving the health and fitness of our children
  • Provide leadership opportunities for our children

The website will be regularly updated with how the funding is being spent and the impact it is having on the children.

Highlights to date:

  • We have seen a significant increase in the number of children attending after school sports clubs and being involved in competitive opportunities.
  • Success in competitions including Cricket, New Age Bowls and Speedstacking
  • Pupil attainment in lessons has significantly increased with the majority of children now achieving the expected level of progress expected across the key stages.
  • Participation in PE is now regularly above 95%
  • Increased engagement in competitions, before and after school clubs and more active playtimes.
  • New PE kit for team sports when competing against other schools.
