Welcome to Class 7's page!

Our topic this term is WINTER

We are learning about:

  • types of weather we have in winter
  • why it is darker and colder in winter
  • what it is like in other parts of the world in winter.

Investigating Frosty Weather

During our first week back in school we had some very cold weather.  We found frost and ice.

WOW!

Last week we learned about thundersnow.  Class 7 can talk about what thundersnow is - go on, ask them.

Using Colourful Semantics

We will be continuing to use the colourful semantics colours to help us think about sentences.  We have added shapes to them to help us even more.

Who - is in the sentence

Doing - the action.

What like - this means give some description to who or the action or the plac

Homework

We send our homework book home on a Wednesday and ask that you bring it back on Monday.  In the homework book is the menu from their own year group class and our own menu.  We include some ideas of short activities you can do at home to help with reading, writing, maths and our own topic work.  If you can, please do one or two every day.

In class we use two websites to help boost reading and spelling skills, these are Nessy and IDL cloud.  We have included the login information in the children's homework books.   Just five minutes per evening can make a big difference.

Thank you smiley
