We were very lucky to have a visit from Imran from the Muslim Learner Services in school. After a brilliant whole school assembly, KS children enjoyed learning even more in their workshops...so much so, they have asked when Imran is coming back to see us. Imran gave us excellent feedback, saying how engaged and well-behaved the children were.

As part of our ongoing work on Mental Health, our Y6 Wellbeing Ambassadors enjoyed a brilliant day in Manchester at One Goal's 'Mental Health Champion' Day on 30th January. They learned lots of new skills to use as well-being leaders in school. One of their ideas was to run a well-being lunchtime club.

KS2 Resilience Day

On 16th January children in Y3, Y4 and Y5 had an amazing day learning all about how to be more resilient learners with Ben from One Goal. They learned about the six habits of resilient learners: attitude, behaviour, courage, determination, enthusiasm and friendship. Well done everyone!

Congratulations to all of the children who have received certificates for achieving their Bronze awards for earning 100 Praise Points this term.

A big well done to KS2 children who have made excellent progress in swimming and achieved awards.

Christmas celebrations and performances

Coming together as a school community at this special time is one of the best parts of our term. We have enjoyed our annual Christingle service at St. Mary's Church, EYFS and KS1 have performed their nativity plays and KS2 have performed 'Carols by Candlelight'. Our KS2 choir performed carols at Halton Lea shopping centre, Blue Sky Community group and school staff organised a brilliant Christmas fair including a lantern walk in the woods and a gospel performance by Y4, and EYFS and KS1 loved travelling by bus to The Brindley Theatre to watch the pantomime 'Snow White'.

The children (and staff!) also enjoyed eating Christmas dinner and celebrating together with end of term parties. We hope all of our families have a lovely Christmas. Thank you for your continued support.

Inspirational children

We are proud of all of our children at The Brow and love hearing about ways that their learning in school has engaged them and challenged them to extend their learning. These young people have worked hard to give something back to our community and beyond by fundraising and caring for our environment. Spencer was so inspired by his learning on Palm Oil, that he spent time every day collecting litter after school on his journey home. Ava wanted to do something to help others so worked really hard with her mum to make sweet cones to sell with her friends for Children in Need, raising over £150. Well done! You are all amazing.

Amazing Musicians

Over recent years we have worked with Accent Music Hub to develop children's music skills and to give them the experience of performing to live audiences. Year 4 will take part in Gospel singing lessons weekly for the academic year, building to a performance as part of the 'Feast of Choirs' event at Liverpool Cathedral with other North West primary schools. Year 6 are taking part in weekly Samba drumming lessons throughout the Autumn term, preparing for a whole school performance in December. Here is a sneak peek at the amazing progress our musicians are making after just a few weeks!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

So many of our lives have been touched by cancer, that we strive to do all that we can to support worthwhile charities such as Macmillan. On Friday 27th September we held our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. It was lovely to see so many of our families and the staff were so generous with their donations of cakes for the event. A huge thank you to Cohen in Year 6 who asked could he run a games table to help to raise money... he even donated the prizes himself! I am very pleased to say that we raised an amazing £173.50, so a big thank you to everyone involved.

One Goal Aspirations Day

On 20th September Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed an amazing Aspirations Day with One Goal. They spent time thinking and discussing their hopes and ambitions for the future, their passions, and their skills. We were proud of their amazing aspirations and how focused and engaged they were in all of the activities.
